KOREAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM – LECTURER I
The University of Michigan Department of Asian Languages and Cultures invites applications for the position of Korean Lecturer (LEO Lecturer I) starting September 1, 2020. This is a non-tenure-track position with a university-year appointment. Responsibilities include 10-12 instructional hours per week and active involvement in curricular and program affairs.
Requirements include an M.A. in Korean language pedagogy or applied linguistics and native or near-native competence in both English and Korean. Expertise and experience in curriculum development is essential. Familiarity with digital and multi-media language instruction and innovative approaches to engaged and experiential learning is highly desired. Excellence in teaching and instructional service will be the principal criteria used to select the successful candidate.
A complete dossier includes a letter of application explaining your qualifications, separate statement of teaching philosophy and experience, a current CV, samples of materials development, and three letters of recommendation. In addition, a teaching demo – a link to a video of one instructional session lasting no longer than an hour – is required.
