The Department of East Asian Studies at Brown University invites applications for a full-time position as Lecturer of Korean language, on a three-year renewable basis, effective July 1, 2020.  M.A. degree in Korean language and linguistics, language pedagogy, or applied linguistics/second language acquisition is required; Ph.D. degree in one of these fields is preferred. Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in Korean and a strong command of English. Priority will be given to those candidates who have independently taught Korean to English-speaking students at the university level. Applicants should be able to teach Korean at all levels.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching a minimum of two Korean language courses at assigned levels per semester and working closely with other program faculty for Korea-related events and activities. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential.
