The new University of Wisconsin-Madison Korean Flagship Program invites applications for the position ofKorean Flagship Program Coordinator.

 

The UW-Madison Korean Flagship in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures and the Language Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is an exciting new undergraduate Korean language and culture program for students in any major to reach a professional level of competence in Korean.

Application deadline: September 26, 2018

 

Start date: November 1, 2018 (as soon as possible after search is concluded)

 

Salary: Minimum $43,450 (12-month), depending on qualifications 

 

Degree and area of specialization:

BA required in foreign language, linguistics, or international area studies. MA preferred. Korean language study and study abroad experience in South Korea strongly preferred.

 

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an administrative capacity. Experience working in U.S. higher education preferred. Excellent organizational and office skills. Computer proficiency, experience working with databases and spreadsheets. Demonstrated communication and writing skills. Proficiency in Korean preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

Working with a team of faculty and staff at UW-Madison and with national and overseas partners, the coordinator will administer the new Korean Flagship Program, a U.S. Department of Defense-funded program to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to reach a professional level of competence in Korean by graduation through intensive study at UW-Madison and overseas.
