Non-Tenure-Track Position in the Korean Language, East Asian Languages and
Cultures
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures in the Dana and David
Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern
California in Los Angeles, California, invites applications for a full-time,
non-tenure-track faculty position in the Korean language with an anticipated
start date of August 2012.
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures provides
students with a well-rounded education on East Asia by focusing on the study of
the languages, literatures, and cultures of China, Japan and Korea at both the
graduate (PhD) and undergraduate (BA) level.
The successful candidate may serve as the director for a growing Korean
language program, with responsibilities to include teaching at all levels of
the Korean language, coordinating Korean language courses, and developing new
courses and innovative curriculum. Applicants should have an M.A or Ph.D. in second
language acquisition, Korean language pedagogy, or related fields, and possess
native or near-native fluency in both Korean and English. Evidence of
commitment to dynamic and effective language teaching is essential. Salary and
