AATK Graduate Student Travel Awards
 
We are pleased to announce the AATK Graduate Student Travel Awards to support graduate student members’ attendance at the AATK annual conference and workshop.
The AATK Graduate Student Travel Awards offer assistance to graduate students at all levels, especially those attending for the first time or presenting at the meeting. Two awards up to $500 will be given. The award includes travel expenses to the AATK meeting and the conference registration fee by means of reimbursement.
 
Eligibility
(1) Applicants must be student members of the AATK at the time of application and enrolled in a university Master's or Doctorate’s program.
(2) Priority will be given to first-time attendees and those presenting at the conference. 
(3) Previous award recipients are not eligible to submit (starting in 2014).
(4) If recipients are unable to attend the conference, they will not receive the award.
 
Guidelines 
Those interested in applying for the AATK Graduate Student Travel Awards need to submit:
(1) an application form

(2) a current Curriculum Vitae
(3) a proof of enrollment in a graduate program      
The application materials should be sent via e-mail attachment to Dr. Joowon Suh, the Executive Secretary, at suh@princeton.edu by April 15, 2013.
Applications will be evaluated by a special review board selected by the American Association of Teachers of Korean who have no professional or personal connections to applicants.
The result will be notified no later than April 30, 2013.

Review Criteria
1. Contribution to the meeting: Are the applicant presenting or chairing at the AATK meeting?
                                                              
2. Usefulness of the meeting for the applicant’s academic and professional development:
(1) Will the applicant be able to obtain useful knowledge and experience that he or she can
       utilize in his or her academic work and/or teaching by participating in the meeting?
(2) Will the applicant be able to share the knowledge and experience obtained at the
       meeting with his or her colleagues?
(3) Will the meeting help the applicant to grow academically professionally in the long
       term?
 
3. Commitment to the field: 
(1) Will the applicant work in the field of teaching Korean after completing his or her study?
(2) Does the applicant demonstrate his or her goal and motivation to further his or her
       career in the field of teaching Korean?
