Preceptor in Korean

The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University invites applications for a full-time Preceptor in Korean beginning August 1, 2020.  The successful applicant should be well versed on the issues of teaching Korean as a foreign language, have experience in teaching all levels of Korean, and must have exemplary ability in comprehension and active use of modern standard Korean, written and spoken, at native or near-native proficiency. 


Several years of experience teaching modern Korean at the college level in the United States and specialization in Korean pedagogy and second language acquisition is highly desirable.  An M.A. or  Ph.D. degree (or ABD)in Korean Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Foreign Language Education, or a closely related field is preferred.  This will be a term appointment, with the duration of the term to be determined.  The appointment is renewable, based on performance and curricular need, for up to a total of eight years.

4.  Names and contact information of three referees, who will be asked by a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation once the candidate’s application has been submitted. Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when the letters have been received.
