The Asian Studies Program at Vanderbilt University seeks to make an appointment in Korean language instruction. The rank is Lecturer, to begin with an initial one-year appointment in fall 2020. Renewal is conditional upon performance review.

Candidates for the position should have at least an M.A. in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, Korean Pedagogy, Korean Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Foreign Language Education, and/or related fields. Candidates possessing a Ph.D. or similar terminal degree in their area of study are preferred. Native or near-native fluency in spoken and written Korean and a strong command of English are required. The ability to teach a proficiency-based curriculum at all levels of Korean and a familiarity with team-teaching are preferred attributes.
