The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a part-time or full-time lecturer position in Korean language starting Fall, 2017. The appointment is one year, with the possibility of renewal on an annual basis based on performance and funding availability.
Qualified candidates must have native or near-native proficiency in Korean and English and a Ph.D. (or ABD) in Applied linguistics, Korean language/linguistics, education, language pedagogy, and/or other language education-related areas. At least three years of experience in teaching all levels of Korean language courses at college level is desirable. Experience in instructional technologies and development of online (hybrid) materials is highly desirable.
Salary is commensurate with teaching experience, and is based on University of California salary scales. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a qualified candidate is selected.
In addition to this current position, ALC is receiving in an ongoing basis applications for quarter (Fall/Winter/Spring) positions of Lecturers in Asian Languages & Cultures. Only those with previous teaching and training experience, and who have an M.A. or higher degree should apply.
