for Modern Korean Studies – Junior Position—University of Chicago
The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the
University of Chicago (http://ealc.uchicago.edu) invites
applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in
Modern Korean Studies. Specialization should be in Humanities Studies of the
modern era. We seek a scholar who will
bring breadth and depth to Korean Studies at the University of Chicago and in North
America. We welcome innovative
approaches to textual and cultural studies, especially in literature; film or
other media will also be considered. Native or near-native fluency in Korean
required; completion of Ph.D. Degree by September 2011 preferred. Application materials need to include curriculum vitae, a writing
sample and outline of the dissertation or book project, and a letter of
application addressing current research and teaching interests. Please request three letters of
