The Department of East Asian
Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Virginia invites
applications for a Lecturer position in Korean language, to begin August 25th,
2011. The position is an initial one academic year appointment, with possibility
of renewal. We seek a skilled language instructor with experience teaching both
non-heritage and heritage students at Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced
levels. Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Korean, teaching
experience, and a MA or higher academic degree in one of the following: Korean
language and literature, applied linguistics, teaching Korean as a second
language, or a related field. Prior experience teaching Korean language at the
university level is preferred. The teaching load is three courses per semester.
